Tuesday 12/26 – Got up at 2:45am to leave for airport. Arrived in Austin at 2pm. Hooked up with tall Mark and The Hammer for a Blue Jacket workout. We ran out to the track, 1.74 miles. Once at the track, we ran a 400 at HMGP, a 400 at 10k and 400 at 5k, and a 400 recovery. That all equals 1 mile, we did that 4 times, and held the paces pretty well. We then ran back to the Rogue annex 1.74 miles. It was nice to be back and run in a runner friendly town!
Total Run : 7.5 miles
Wednesday – Marathon Group Quality workout. 1 mile warm-up run. Drills. Then ran 4 miles around Town lake with Team Pain Train. 3 minutes at 10k pace, 3 min recovery; 2 minutes at 5k pace, 2 min recovery, 1 minute at 1 mile pace, 1 minute recovery. Ostrich and I ran together and were exhausted by the end of it. Sure didn’t sound like a tough workout when presented to us, but it kicked my butt.
Total Run : 5 miles
Thursday – Met up with Steve Sisson, not only the Trail runner of the year, but also the fastest trail runner in Austin. He ran with me to show me around all the trails.
Trail or Ultra Male of the YearHe took it easy on me. We ran for 1 hour and 15 minutes, for probably about 7 miles or so. He showed me all kinds of new kickass trails, and I can’t wait to go run in them over and over. I already figured out that I can get to the water in 20mins!! I couldn’t thank him enough. That was the most fun and easy trail run I’ve ever done, even though my legs were burning when we ran up Humpback!
1. Joe Prusaitis: Ran Badwater, Western States and two other 100-milers.
2. Steve Sisson: 12th overall at Pike's Peak.
3. Russ Secker: Finished the Trans Gaulle (France) ultra of 725 miles in 18 days.
The winner: Steve Sisson.Source
Total Run : 7 Miles
Friday – No run. Rest day before Saturday Long run.
Saturday - Ran a hard 16.66 miles with Triscuit and Ostrich. My Plantars came back to haunt me from mile 8 or so, and I had dead legs the prior 8 miles, so not a very enjoyable run. Ostrich wasn’t feeling too good towards the end of it, but Triscuit was, and she picked up the pace, I quickly sped up to catch her, and we ran the last 2 miles at a fast pace. Probably around 7min miles.
Total Run : 16.66 Miles
Sunday – Ran about 6 miles on the trail with the dogs. (see Karma’s trail run pictures)
Monday Jan, 1, 2007 – No run. Rest day.
Total Miles - 42 Miles.

Great week of running Mike, sorry we missed out on the trail run yesterday! I must say that I am really looking forward to resurrecting the trail runs post April 15th and when there is more light! FYI, we ran the same mileage this week :) I didn't think that would ever happen!
Looking forward to getting back to doing some trail running again, myself. Though I doubt I'll be able to keep up!
Btw - your blog title could do with some work, it isn't very catchy (look at the title bar up the top...)
