Tuesday I went and got my foot worked on, as the heel has been hurting like hell.
Dr Holt, the Miracle Man, wasn't able to perform a Miracle since he thinks I have a Stress Fracture in my left heel.
Per his instruction, I went and got an Xray at 8am the next morning at this place called River Ranch Radiology. It was nice as it only took 30 mins in and out. I got there at 7:50, filled out my oodles of paperwork, they called me in at 8:08, and I was out the door at 8:19.
"Any questions?" she asked. "Umm, yeah, when" "Your doctor will have the xrays in 24 hours." I guess she knew the question was coming.
Good deal! 24 hours! That means I'll know if I can race Saturday's Belterra 5K that I already paid for as early as Thursday! *per Borat, wait 1, 2, 3, 4 long seconds* NOT!
Thursday mid-day I call the Holtser, but nothing yet. So I call again at 5'ish. "Dr. Holt is currently with a patient." "Ok, can you tell him to please call me before he goes home?" "sure thing" (per borat, wait, 1, 2, 3, 4 long seconds* NOT!
He didn't call me, so I called Friday mid-morning. Little bastard went out of town and didn't even tell me. But I guess it didn't matter, because when I asked if they could check if my xrays were there (thinking if they were, I'd ask for Dr. Zelinski to have a peek at them as I still want to run the 5K), but alas, stupid River Ranch Radiology still hadn't dropped off the Xrays.
Now I find out that the Xrays are MAILED to my Dr. Umm, River Ranch Radiology, if you're going to MAIL them, then at minimum, offer me the option to play the role of courier and take them to my Dr. myself.
Dammit.
So now it's Saturday mid-morning, I still don't have my results, I don't know if this pain I have is benign or not, and I didn't get to race my 5K.
Which brings me to the only fun part of this whole story:
If you're going to skip out on a 5K, offer your race bib to a friend who is planning on running the race like I did. Amber's husband Phil ran a 19:54! Thank god he didn't run 6 seconds faster and give me a new PR!, but he did get 2nd place in my Age Group. Had he run 2 seconds faster, I would have won my Age Group. Had he run in his own Age Group, he would have been 3rd or 4th, so all in all a win win!!
Good job, Phil! Way to represent!
I wonder what 2nd place earned me!

A second place medal! And a race shirt. Yeah!!
Actually, you also won a 6 month free membership to 24 hour fitness. And, if for some reason you opt not to use it, I know someone (eh hem) who would gladly use it since it has a pool. Just sayin'.
I also know this guy whose girlfriend has a membership there and it would be nice to workout with her instead of with the old ladies at the gym he currently goes to.
Didn't someone (eh hem) almost get disqualified from the Freescale for similar antics in 2005? Where's that whiney Chi-Coach when you need her?!
:-)
