1- Winning an exotic car rental of my choice: I guess it’s cool even though I asked for the equivalent in money instead, but they said, it’s the car or nothing. (Fine, I’ll take the car while on vacation, because that sounds decently fun)
2- Telling me that I’m going to have to pay taxes on the car rental at the “bonus tax rate” AFTER I rented and drove the car: NOT COOL
3- Ending up having to pay more in taxes for the rental than the price quote we had for a normal car then divided by because we were going to either split the cost, or my buddy was even going to use his Hertz points to get it for fee for us: DEFINITELY NOT COOL
- My paycheck being short $400 – 600 dollars(depending on tax rate) in the next paycheck on the 15th: FUCKING SUCKS ASS
Chance of me being productive for the remainder of the day after they told me this, slim to none.
I need to drown my mood in strong drinks. Who’s with me?
Update/True Story: As I was finishing up this email, our payroll administrator came by my desk and told me that the company will pay for my taxes, so I’m off the hook. Thank you! I guess I had some extra positive Karma points out there!
Now I need celebratory drinks!
