Last Long Run before Chi-town

Ran the 24.48 mile version of RunTex to RunTex yesterday according to my old Garmin. It's quite unreliable, but since the other's I heard read 24.45 and even 24.75 it must be pretty accurate.
Miles 3 through 13 were supposed to be at Marathon pace. I ran with Chris, and we ran too fast (again). I saw 7:05, i saw tons in the teens, and a few very close to 7:24, but overall, they were fast.

I never felt very strong yesterday, and even felt like calling it a day at mile 16 at Carolyn's waterstop. I'm proud to say I kept going, but it was painful. Just didn't feel it today. Those last 8.5 miles were horrible. I walked, I shuffled along, I trotted, I stopped for many many minutes at the waterstops, and even slow walked up the last hill from Scholtz on San Jacinto to 11th Street.
But I finished.

Running time 3 hours 16 minutes'ish, which comes out to 8min01second miles. I'll take it.

Today I was supposed to run 6, which hardly seemed doable, but after getting back from HEB and lounging around with the dogs, Kerry called and was heading to the trail to run 40 minutes then was going to ride her bike. I first told her no thanks, but then looked at the pups, asked them:
"Hey, wanna go run?"

They promptly replied with this look:

So I called her to wait up... It felt hot, humid, and my legs were completely dead. We ran 4 easy miles and then i came home while she continued on to her 20-30 mile bike session. i took a nice and cool shower and am now watching the poopers dead asleep from the run. mission accomplished.
