There are exactly 34 websites on the internet that give you weather prognosis. Okay i'm lying about the exact number, but it certainly seems that everyone has become a meteorologist. I'm a big (closet) weather fan. I'm fascinated by weather. It's funny how we're all looking at weather for the marathon 2 weeks out. Emails are flying with weather links amongst the 20 of us making the trip up to Chi-town. I mean, it's now 7 days out, and no websites agree. They all agree that it will be warm all this week, but no one seems to agree on when a cold front will hit Chicago. Some say Saturday afternoon, some say Overnight between Saturday and Sunday, som says Sunday afternoon, some say Monday, some say Thunderstorms on Sunday, some say Sunny.
Here are the ones I go to ever so often:
CNN.com Weather 10 day I dont' have much experience with this one, but i like that it's saying low of 40 and cloudy!
Weather.com Personally, I think this one has the WORST longterm or even 48 hour weather prognosis. At least for Austin. They always get it wrong. However, their live interactive radar maps are the best on the internet.
Local Chicago WGN TV Station's Weather This one really scares me as they're IN chicago, and he thinks it's going to be almost 70 as a low. Oh god, please be wrong.
Accuweather.com with REALFEEL wow! Realfeel! This is a new one for me, so i'm not sure how good they are, but they have temps for both overnight and daytime, which is kind of cool. And they also have realfeel, because we all know that the temperature it really is outside, is never what it feels like. What a competitive differentiator they've come up with!
NOOA's Interactive map This one is clearly may favorite of them all. But only for 24 - 48 hours stuff. If we can't trust NOAA, then who can we trust. Agent Mulder said "Trust No One", but I trust NOAA. When the weather in Austin is sketchy for my run the next morning, I always trust this interactive guide. It's cool how it gives you hourly stuff. This one will come in handy later on this week. Just "mouse over" the diferent options, or click ahead 12 hours. MY FAVORITE!
For the record, I want NO HIGHER than 45 (7 celsius) at the start, and no HIGHER THAN 55 (12 celsius) at 11:30am. Once 11:30am hits, the weather is welcome to skyrocket up to 70(21) with sun! Rain or no rain, i couldn't care less. I can run in rain.
