Today we got to run 12 sets of 200 meters at faster than 5K pace. My 5K pace should be right around 6min per mile, which is a 45 second 200.
Here are my splits:
38.7 .. 40.9 .. 41.0 .. 40.4 .. 40.7 .. 40.2 .. 40.8 .. 39.8 .. 40.8 .. 40.4 .. 39.3 .. 38.2
Let it be known that:
- 38 seconds is a 5:04 min per mile pace
- 41 seconds is a 5:28 min per mile pace
We rocked that workout!
But we still got lapped by Terranova! WOW!
Also, putting the crazy pace into perspective:
2hours and 5minutes for a marathon (like the kenyans run) is under a 5 min pace for 26 miles.
I wouldn’t be able to keep these above paces for more than maybe 2 miles! hahaha
Next up: 20 miles on Saturday!
