I ran 16 miles today with the Rogue Marathoners. Other than a 5 Alarm need to find a convenience store for a nature break, the run was enjoyable. Certainly felt great, and the first time I've ever run more than 10 or 8 miles to just run for fun*. Without a looming race in the back of your head, it's quite a different thing to be out there. Jo Dee was nice company, and was even nicer to wait for me while I went for my unexpected break. And I'm also quite proud that I didn't just roll over in bed as the temperatures were near freezing almost all run long.
16 miles - 2 hours 22 minutes, including 7 water stops and a bathroom break. Probably about 8 to 10 minutes of breaks, so about an 8:15 min / mile pace.
* I've been running some trails here and there too, including a 10 miler, and a fun 8.5 miler yesterday. I have pictures from that run, but you'll have to wait for a different post to see those.
Next medium long run: RunTex to RunTex to RunTex 13 miler on New Years morning at 9am. (Yes, I said New Year's morning, and No, I am not crazy.)
