Saturday. It was their last long run before the Austin Marathon on
feb 17.
I'm not sure why I didnt change my mind when the weather called for
freezing conditions, (sub freezing with the wind chill), and a 5:30am
start meaning a 3:45 wakeup call, but I didn't.
Holy shit was it cold out there. I wasnt in a hurry so I took a
bathroom break at mile 14 at a gas station and discovered something I
will definately do again: in freeze my fingers under warm water.
Having warm, unfrozen fingers for the next 5 miles was well worth the
6 min pitstop.
Total time including all the water stops: 3 hours 3 minutes.
Probably take 12 min or so off of that for the net run time.
Lots of suffering from the cold, but when it was all said an done, I
was happy I was out there, and as there was no looming "important
marathon" as my next 20+ mile run, I was in a different mindset than
any other LONG run I've ever done. It was fun to crank out sub 7
miler and 8;30 miler without a care in the world!

All y'all are nuts, but good for you. You were finished before I ever got out of my bathrobe and fuzzy socks.
Are you running the Austin full?
undecided.
if i do, it'll be for fun, not for time.
It's so cute when Texans complain about the cold!
