Part of my plan to get Karma back into shape is to run him to the ground. So again today, we set out with Kerry to run trails. The poor pup was still tired from yesterday and unable to keep up after about 10 minutes. (Don’t worry, dog lovers, I’m not looking to kill him, just get him back into shape. I love him more than you guys do.)
We didn’t run from our usual spot which was a big mistake, and we ended cutting our run short due to A) Some bum, smell of smoke, and barking dog – We didn’t want to deal with a homeless person with a potentially aggressive dog in the dark. B)Karma was running uber slow and we continuously would stop to wait for him as we were on new trails he’s not familiar with. C) I don’t quite know why, but we both never got into a good groove. We felt out of place, I kept twisting my feet/ankles on these unknown trails.
We also heard a bunch of cars driving over us as we ran under MoPac and 360, and to be honest, I really don’t ever want to hear a car again when I’m running on trails before work. Ran about 3 miles, maybe 3.5. Pretty pathetic, but I also don’t need to be cranking up the mileage too fast.
I guess a positive is we heard an owl (whoo whoo… whoo whoo) a couple of times.
