I ran for 4 hours - I slept for 4 hours.

I recently just woke up from a 4 hour nap. Four hours. not the usual 1 or 2 hour nap, but four.

Today we had a trail run on the agenda for our long run. Not too many people showed up to the trai run option, as I guess they're either scared of scraping up a knee, or they were really excited over the idea of running some roue up north that looked like a double lollipop connected by Far West boulevard repeats. If I would have run that, it would have meant running repeats on Far West 6 times. Blaaaagh.

Actually, I had no option to even run the north road run, as coaches were out of town and they volunteered me to mark the 14 mile out and back from TacoDeli to the Hill of Life, for the rookie trail runners.

14 miles was clearly not enough for the Saturday long run for Ken Doll, Yella-Cap Keith and Charlie Tango, so I thought up another 8 miles or so in the maze of the trails I run al the time out of Moonshadow. I recreated part of THE BELT trail race from last year, so I really feel like I got to run it this year again. Hills, hills and more hills. Ken wanted a challenge, so i hope I gave him one. For those that know the roads, we ran up the HIll of Life, (water stop) down the back side, right at the Dam, then u the side ridge run up to the T with Cedar Chop, then, cedarchop hills, to the big empty, where we turned left and ran down middle road, turning elft towards the Z, where we turned right to continue running middle road, until we took a left onto Pantieloop (reverse), then back on the big cedarchop hill down to the Powerline. I had water stashed there. The pace was solid, as I led the way and wanted a good workout out of it. We could have gone real slooooow, but i opted to push the pace a little on all those hills. I put out water for us at powerline, then water again at 360.

Al the markers I put out, Ken and I went back and removed, which added mileage. So, in total, we agreed that we had run 4 hours, and about 22 miles. (Charlie Tango and Keith went about 20.5 as they did not need to folow along to go get the deep markers)

In any case, 4 hours of running is tiring. Even more so when you're in the trails. We ended the run with a few breakfast tacos at Taco Deli (chorizo eggncheese, chorizo eggncheese, and potatoe eggncheese.) Two chocolate milks and two big cups of water with Nuuun electr0lytes.

I guess I was really tired, because since my return I watched last night's Track and Field Olympic trials then slept for 4 hours. Four hours.

I was supposed to go drink Margaritas and other drinks under the shade of outdoor bars in Austin all afternoon, but:
a) i slept for 4 hours
b) no one has called, emailed, or texted me asking me where and what time. (my friends suck)
c) Olympic trials starts again in 15 minutes.
d) Did I mention I slept for 4 hours? I still feel groggy.

I'm taking tomorrow off as a rest day, and will instead just go for a nice trail hike/walk with Karma (pick up my waterdrop canister), then grocery store, then do some heavy duty spring cleaning around the hizzhouse. Maybe one of my dear friends will contact me t go do something fun in the afternoon.

Bowl of cheetos, followed by a bowl of popcorn sounds really good right now. No run tomorrow, means I can safely eat Popcorn today. Gotta take advantage!

I do have an invite for drinks at the tiniest bar tonite, but I'm unsure if I can make it off my couch.
