After a 4 mile warmup, we had a 4 mile progressive. Steve told us to make sure we got progressively faster at each mile, and didn't think we'd get past 5K as our fastest.
My splits were as follows:
7:05 - 6:51 - 6:36 - 5:57 BAM!
Not bad for someone who hasn't stepped on a track to do a speed workout since November of 2008. One could argue that I was a tad too conservative for the first 2 miles, but overall, I really like my splits. It was fun to see what I've got in the tank, and I felt great all the way. I was fresh enought at the end and felt like I could have held my last mile pace for possibly 1/2 to full mile
Ran another 6 miles to get the 14 in. That was a long cooldown.
28.7 miles down . . . 71.3 to go.
With Saturday 24 and Thursday 17.2 it leaves 30.1 to get in the other 3 days. I'm thinking 12, 10, 8, or 12-12-6
