That makes it 66 for the week. Why a long 13 today, so I reduce my required miles on Sunday.
66 means 34 more to go. 24 tomorrow, then a 10 mile shuffle on Sunday. (Sounds much better than 24 than a 13 mile marathon on Sunday).
The run went well for 11 miles, especially since we had two new first timers (Erin M, and Derrick) join us for 'The Turista", so i was able to shake the rust of the Tour Commentary. It's actually starting to be quite the tour with Ken chiming in from time to time, and also setting my next discussion up. Pretty funny, at least to me. They seem to have enjoyed the route.
Then, they took a left towards Barton Springs, while Ken and I took a right for an extra 2 miles. Those 2 miles hurt. It's tough to go an extra 17 minutes when you know that the finish line was oh so close. That's where my strategy became, "put one foot in front of the other. repeat."
I came home, put my watch's timer at 24 minutes, and closed my eyes on my bed. Apparently, I should use my phone's timer, or an actual alarm, because my watch just beeps once or so, and I didn't hear it. 47 minutes later i woke up. Oh well. Still got to working by 9:10am, which is perfectly fine!
My fridge is empty. I can't wait to go to the grocery store tonight. It sounds like a loser thing to do, Friday night grocery shopping, but when you have a 24 mile run, which means a 3:45am wake up call, you're not going out and painting the town anyway, so it's the perfect time to go. No one else is in the store, except believe it or not, many other healthy/athlete types, and then random people. but for the most part, it's pretty much dead; and that's how i like my grocery stores.
Polkadot carbo load Friday!
A trip to polkadots will also be welcome; that's only a few hours away!
