You don't have to shave your legs to swim.
But I hear it would make me 0.63 seconds faster in my 1/8th of a mile splits. That's what IronMark thinks.
I guess if you're swimming a 10K then it would be worth it. I almost always shave before a swim, but for entirely different reasons.
When I was a swimmer, our team all got together in our hotel rooms and had a co-ed shaving party.Very fun...might be a reason to start swimming, but then again you might not be into group shaving parties. Or you might not be 15 anymore.
Heehee, I'm being maligned hidden away in a blogspot Comments-thread where I didn't even notice ...Allow me to retort. Or, actually, offer a surrender, as my position is indefensible: http://whyiron.livejournal.com/80048.html
all i did was give a reason for not swimming, then had to explain my reason... don't hate me!
