T - 41 = Forest Ridge

I met up with Leigh Meredith, Larry and Bruce for a 10 mile Trail Run.

The run went fine, and the trail is great, but that's not worth writing abou as much as what IS worth writing about. That's is the extreme confusion that arose prior to the run.

Saturday I ran 23.5 hard miles. I then rushed home, hopped in an icebath for 10 mins, packed the car up with tailgating stuff, and headed out to tailgate. Went to the football game, and got home at 6:30. I did my best to stay up till around 8-8:30pm, and then collapsed. I set my alarm for 6AM, giving myself a good hour before I'd have to leave to meet up for the run. I woke up at 5:30am, still tired, but with 9 hours of un-interrupted sleep. Wow! Haven't slept past 7.5 hours in a long time! I decided I'd get up to watch the end of the Ohio State - Penn State game I'd recorded. Took Karma for a walk, then sat down with a bowl of cereal and turned the TV on. When I went to grab the recording off the DVR, the clock on the screen said 6:43am. What? I thought Daylight savings was next week? Did I just close my eyes for 5mins but it turned out to be over an hour?
I checked my phone, 6:44. I went back in the bedroom and looked at my alarm clock: 5:44. I checked my microwave - flashing 12:00. Hmmm... what time is it? I guess AT&T cable service and my AT&T phone both got it wrong and switched the time a weekly early. But isn't it Fall Backwards, Spring forward? That would mean it's not 7am, but 5am? What??? Ugh, I'm so friggin' confused. I text message Meredith and Ken asking them what time it is, and already planning to tell everyone that because of daylight savings we're postponing to 8:30am start. We can't run trails in the dark. Not on a Sunday. Meredith calls me, telling me it's almost 7. This means I have less than 10 mins to get out of the house and on the road. Scrap the plans to leave early to get gas. Scrap the footballwatching. Scrap everything. I need to go. But wait a second, what the hell is going on here? When I took Karma outside, it was dark as night. I peek outside, it's getting light all of a sudden. Huh? I'm sooo confused. Ken texts me, "7:02". Wow, this means I slept for 10 hours un-interrupted! Man, I was TIRED!

I think I've figured out what happened. My alarm clock is one of those you plug into the wall, and the thing magically set the time on it's own. I guess it's not that cool since it didn't get the memo from the Government that we're NOT doing daylight savings this weekend, but next weekend. The Microwave blinking, i dunno. It has a mind of it's own.

Regardless, I've never felt so confused in years. And I think I even instilled some doubt in Meredith too.

I end the week at 69.6 miles. Just shy of 70. Not bad.
Next week we have a 30 mile run on Saturday ut no home football game. In regards to the run, I'll be extending that by... oh... 1.07 miles to be exact.

Mike, the same thing happen in our household with the bedroom clock. I woke up at 7:57 am thinking it would be a little later. I went into the kitchen and saw the oven and micorwave clocks said 8:57. Just as confused, checked a few of the other clocks and soon determined, the bedroom clock thought it was the weekend to fall back.

Did you see some sort of bikini model photoshoot out there? My husband claims he did. But that was lots of hours after you were out there, I guess. So in the future.. beware. Bikini models.

Note to self: Run Forrest Ridge later in the morning.
