Shopping & miscellaneous observations

Time to go shopping at Goodwill -
The San Antonio marathon is in 2 weeks. This means there's going to be a mad dash for cheap sweatshirts at Goodwill soon as tons of Austinites will be running down there. I better beat them to the punch, because I doubt Goodwill stores will be restocked with cheap pre-marathon throwaways (sweatshirt and possibly sweatpants) for my departure on Dec 5.

Time to go buy Gels -
I know it's over a month out, but experience tells me to just go ahead and stock up on my race day Gels. It's not like they don't have a 30 day shelf life!

As a male, it's not only much more enjoyable to shop for stuff when you bring along a (female) friend, but also highly recommended. Not only do you have someone to talk to, but you also get some good advice on what stores to go to, and what NOT to buy. You also get to share new inventions with each other, like, the real meaning of the word Sofa, and why a stove & over should be called a Stoven.

Apparently yesterday was, 'shop for furniture and refrigerators day' for runners in Austin, as I/we spotted a bunch of other Rogues out and about. (Crate and Barrel is apparently a Rogue favorite.) Too bad most of their furniture, albeit very nice, is ridonkulously expensive.

Apparently yesterday was also, run the Komen Race for the cCure 5K, then don't bother changing into other clothes for the rest of the day, as I spotted dozens of (mostly women) still wearing the same stuff they wore at the race/run/walk/jog/event, 6 hours after the event had ended. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

My legs are tired. I'm glad I'm taking today off.

Apparently, today is "use the word apparently" day.

So many people asked me if I ran the "marathon" yesterday. Huh? They meant the run for the cure 5K. I said no because while it's a worthy cause, I don't feel like sharing the road with 21,000 people for 3 miles!

I didn't change out of my running clothes until 8PM last night. I may have beaten all those other ladies. Though in my defense I did also go run trails at 3:30. That makes it ok, right?
