T - 33 : Track 200's w/ diagonal recoveries

We ran 200's at 5K pace today. The option was to go between 10 and 20. I opted for 15. We're not looking to build anymore, we're just looking to sustain, and both Steve and I agreed that 15 was plenty on a race week, if that's what I felt was enough.

Before we started we had some friendly banter about how fast we should go based on 5K pace. I personally thought 6min/mile was the minimum since I ran 6:14s at the IBM 10K race. 6min/mile is 45 seconds for a 200. We decided we'd shoot for 43-44 seconds.

The interesting thing here was we decided to run the sets by feel and not be dependent on a watch. In other words, we timed our sets, but no one looked at their watch at all. Check out how we did!

I think it's pretty cool that we hit the times we wanted without even knowing it. I don't know if the others cheated and peeked at their watches, but I ran blind and was amazed when i looked at my splits when it was all over!

Enjoyed a fun breakfast with Tausha afterwards.

About a 5.5 mile workout total.
