T - 36 hours: Sacramento Friday night

I types this up on my laptop but then couldn't get an Internet
connection going last night so I printed it, and now I'm retyping from
iPhone. Ouch!

FIRST OF ALL, Thankyou very much to each and everyone of you who has
reached out via all means of communication to wish me luck! I
appreciate it and you will be with me on race day, I can promise you
that.

CIM, www.runcim.org runs from Folsom to Sacramento as a point to point
and starts at 7am PST on Sunday. Unlike most marathons, there is no
LIVE RUNNER TRACKING.

HOWEVER, I will have my iPhone and will post my time and other
training friends' times. I think I'll definitely have something up by
1pm Austin time, if not 12:30. (assuming internet access)

**********
I decided not to bring my laptop, as my bags were already heavy and
loaded enough with warm sweatshirts and other crap like a box of cereal.

We've been training hard. I've run over 240 runs since April gearing
up to this marathon. After several disappointing Boston Qualifying
attempts, I decided to sacrifice some things in my life and train hard
for this race. After Sunday, I'll end up with 2504 miles. Compare
that to past training where I've run 800-900 miles!
I've run over 26 miles 4 times, over 20 miles 24 times, and over 18
miles 28 times. Compare that to 4 20+ mile runs. I AM READY TO PUT
IN A STRONG RUN ON SUNDAY.

GOAL:
My #1 goal is to qualify for the Boston Marathon, and need a sub
3:16. I.E: 3:15:59 is fine. If I come in under that 3:15:59 I'll be
happy. It will also mean I struggled.

To make my intentions public, here's my race plan if all goes "as
planned".

I will stick to a 3:10 marathon pace (7:15miles/min or 4:30min/km). I
plan to run with of a little behind the 3:10 pace group as long as
they are consistent. If they speed up, Ill let them go.
At Mile 20, I will be 2min20sec behind 3:07:00 pace. I will gradually
pick up the pace and start shaving time. We've trained repeatedly to
speed up in the last miles of our long runs, so this is planned
strategy. We'll just have to wait and see how much I have in me to
"race" a 10km race (last 6.2 miles) after having run 20 miles(32kms).
RACING a 10km race after piddling around for 20 miles IS AND HAS BEEN
THE GOAL THROUGHOUT THE TRAINING PROGRAM.

I can tell you one thing... Weather will not affect me like in
Chicago. Nutrition and Hydration will not affect me like in Austin.
It will take a perfect storm to stop me.

I will do EVERYTHING in my power to not be stopped.

I'm ready for this.

Umm...you guys must be basking in the excitement of fast times because it is 12:45 Austin time and we are patiently waiting for some kind of post. Tick tock tick tock.
