"I am hills" - 12 miler

I know, I'm ridiculous, but I was wide awake 15 minutes before my alarm was supposed to wake me at 4:20am. Why? We got a preview of today's route, and it had hills.
I love hills. I am hills. So I had no problems getting out of bed today. (It also might have something to do with not being able to stay awake past 8:15pm last night.)

Regardless, I ran the 12 mile flavor, of which the 5 middle miles were hills. We ran a slower more palatable pace than Tuesday heading out to the hills, maybe a 7:45-7:30, then I attacked the hills. Almost everyone followed suit and stayed quite close which was cool. Half was through the hills Ken stated that his GPS was saying we were at a 7:15 pace overall, meaning we must have had several hill miles at close to or under 7 min/mile to lower it that much. I loved every minute of those 5 hilly miles.

I slowed down the pace to a more comfortable 7:50-8 min/mile on the return trip with Kristen.

Bad news of the day is that I can't seem to locate my headlamp. I would have liked to have had it today because we're not familiar with the roads in the neighborhood and it's pitch dark back there. Last thing I need it a twisted ankle. I'll shake the house out one more time in hopes of locating it.

I'm REALLY craving some chips and queso, but my self-imposed budget is a little tight so I'll just have to eat cheese and cheetos instead of going out to lunch.

There's always the happy hour taco car at Chuys, if you can hold out that long.
