Here's an interesting writeup on the Austonian going up on 3rd and Congress. once built it'll be 23 stories taller than the Frost Tower (fancy glass top building on the right in the photo)
Smallest condos start at $550,000, and the top floor condos are priced at around $8 million.
Another article I just read talks about how Austin's new home building (in the last year) dropped 66% compared to the year prior. However, even though that sounds huge, that ranks Austin as the lowest percentage decline in the country. Based on 81 markets studied, South Florida came in at #1 with 96.5% drop. ouch.

Let me grab my check book - 8 mill. - no problem!! They sure fouled up downtown Austin for nothing. By that I mean limiting activities in downtown so as not to inconvenience the millionaires driving 1 or 2 blocks for a 6 pack.
