The greenbelt has healing powers

The idea of a 5:30am, 10 miler, on the roads, in the dark, in the cold, didn't sound too appetizing to me, so I told the regular crew that I was out from the regular Monday run.

I have been feeling bad about Karma's lack of trail time, so I took him for a "long" (long for him) trail run instead. Bruce and Kristen decided to join in on the fun, and I think we all felt like we made the right decision as we return back to roads tomorrow for another medium long run 16 miler.

Karma ran like a champ.  I had my doubts that he'd want to run much more than 3, as he hasn't been going farther than 1.2 - 2 miles lately, but he ran like a champ for 5.5 miles!

A nice and relaxing trail run was really what I needed to refresh my legs, my mind, my head.   I may start running a 5 mile loop in Travis Country, then 5 miles on the greenbelt with Karma at least once a week, instead of doing three, 10 miles runs from Barton Springs.  That way, I get my miles, I get another weekly dose of the magic in the greenbelt, and most of all, Karma gets a good hour of fun too!

Need to figure out which day will be best for that with my peeps, but I think Wednesday could be a good day as I also run the greenbelt on Sundays, and it'll give me a nice recovery run between the two hard group workouts.
