I haven’t really felt like writing much lately. Sorry. I know how much some of you crave updates on my exciting life. Here’s how the week played out.
I’ve really wanted/want to type up a marathon report ontop of the details I posted last week, mostly because I like reliving fun runs later on by re-reading the stories, and remembering what I did right and wrong. But, I can’t get going on it, so I’m not sure it’ll ever get written.
I can tell you that, the overall grade is no longer a C+, it’s actually closer to an A- after sleeping on it, and then discussing the details with my coach. I actually only failed on 3 miles, and that’s a good thing.
Monday was the day after the marathon, which by the way is traditionally an off day for the grand majority of runners, but I had to get out there and run, because I did not give the marathon 100% effort, and the training continues. I ended up with a slow 5 mile run on the

TUESDAY - 10
Ran 10 miles with the Team. Chris E and I calling it at 5 miles to turn around. I’m sure glad I turned around where we did, because both of our legs were completely dead. They weren’t sore at all, they simply had no energy in them. The highlight of this run was when we were shuffling around at Grandma pace about 1.5 miles from the end. And I said: Chris, don’t think you need to run my pace. I know the way home, feel free to run away. Chris’ reply: I’m just trying my best to keep up with YOU! Hahah A truly pathetic pace for the last 2 miles, but hey, we did it.
WEDNESDAY - 5
My legs still felt dead, so I opted to run another 5 miler on the greenbelt on soft ground, easy with Karma. Karma and I had a grand ol’ time! When I got to the dam, I decided to walk straight into the water and soak my legs. The water was definitely colder than Barton Springs is when we soak in there. It was fantastic to just stand there to my hips, I could feel the legs freezing. The run back was fantastic! No pains, no soreness, truly a magical mystical water soaking!
Karma did something weird… he’s not a big swimmer, but he changed his ways and swam around for the 15 minutes I was in the water! It was awesome to see him just swimming around! I had my phone with me and snapped these photos. Can't you just see how much he loves being out there!

Had a meeting (that went really well) in San Antonio at 10am, and wanted to feel 100% fresh for that, so I opted to skip running, giving my legs a day to rest. This would prove to be a good move.
FRIDAY
Met up with Chris E and Kristen to run at 9am instead of 5:30. Kristen wanted to sleep in a bit, and I welcomed the later start as it was 34 at sunrise, and warmed up into the 40s for our start. We ran an easy 8.5 or so. Legs felt heavy, but I agree with Chris that it was due to the late start. It’s incredible how your body just gets used to running at specific times.
SATURDAY 20
This long run deserves it’s own write-up. I’ll type that up next.
SUNDAY 10
Met up with the Team at Steve and Ruth’s house for a 10 mile run, followed by a fun team breakfast. We chatted about the future, and a few of us stayed after and had some good laughs about Ken’s decision to start drinking Soy Milk to grow his own pair of Moobs.
58 miles for the week. I guess I can live with that, but it's really pretty pathetic. Need to get back up over 70 to feel good about myself.
