What an idiot.

Man refuses to turn off cell phone on ABIA flight
4/11/2009 1:09 PM By: News 8 Austin Staff

A pilot aborted take-off of Jet Blue flight 1068 at Austin Bergstrom International Airport, because a man refused to turn off his cell phone.

The passenger was escorted off the plane with his bags. He was not arrested. In fact, the airline gave him a refund, but he won't be allowed to fly Jet Blue anymore.

An ABIA spokesman said the man still could face federal charges for not following the Federal Aviation Administration's ban on cell phone use below 10,000 feet.

If anyone does something stupid like that on MY jet blue flight next week I will be mighty pissed off.

He should fly Continental, they don't care. On my way back from D.C. last month there was a guy texting the entire time we sat on the tarmac waiting to take off and during the whole taxi and take off. I fell asleep after than and he wasn't in his seat when I woke up. I think he was making some kind of movie deal which is clearly more important than following FAA rules.
