Arm, Calf didn't explode and gush out blood, and my hamstring was happy too. (hammie's been happy for a while so shouldn't even bring it up anymore).
But the ligaments/tendons or whatever they are in groin area, and those around the back of the knee were tight. Very tight, but after about 8 miles seemed to loosen up ok.
Several of the regulars took off like dragsters and that 7:05 pace was kind of ridiculous for mile 1, so eventually we swallowed our medication to treat our SAD(Separation Anxiety Disorder) from Kamran, Damon, Jason and Asia, and were able to settle in to a 7:40'ish pace which did wonders for my ability to breathe and stay with the peloton! (speaking of pelotons, wow, the war of words between contador and lance is heating up! Too funny... cycling news, velonews... it's all over the place if it's of interest)
newly nicknamed "One Step" tried to get away, but we were able to keep her in check (anything to help people's taper!), and by the time it was over I was beat. A little over 11 miles is not the ideal distance for a return after 8 days of slothing around, but i'm glad it's over and the fire is lit again!
Can't wait to hop on the greenbelt for a run tomorrow morning, then we're off to Colorado for 30+ hours of round trip driving with 3 days of minimum 20 miles of trail running at altitude sandwiched in between. Hoping to get closer to 80 miles out of those three days, but we shall see how i survive the lack of air.
Should make it a 90+ mile week. eeek!
Happy running!
