At this pace, there's no chance in hell that i'll be running on Saturday, and Sunday doesn't look good either. EARLY this morning i went to the grocery store, and half way through the shopping, it felt like the stitches were pulling apart. I understand that it's more important to miss days on the front end, and have a nice healing process, instead of screwing things up and jeopardizing my little trail running trip to Colorado that's happening next weekend.
Running aside, it really is healing nicely, and the scar looks like it'll be nice and clean and very small.
But if I can't walk for more than 10 minutes without feeling it, how am i supposed to run a mile at 8 min pace?
grrrr....
i'm starting to feel fat and pathetic.
By the way, i'm pretty disappointed that only one person felt that my noise recording was worth commenting on. Here I am trying to be creative, coming up with unique things, and you people don't say a word. No one better EVER tell me I write too much about running. No, no, it's too late to comment now, so don't do it.

My comments, or lack there of, were simply because I don't have simpathy, I live in the city and city livin is loud. Also, your link/ window/ or whatever you computer nerds call it didn't work on my MAC.
Nonetheless, I am happy to see the development process carrying on in this poor economy. Those are tax payers working behind your crib.
Hopefully it helps your property value, and not go'ment housin'. Then you will really have something to worry about.
Your leg is taking long to heal because these kinds of things take a while to heal. The one I got taken off of my shoulder didn't feel okay for about 7 days, then even still I could tell in my skin that it was healing underneath.
Nice bit about feeling fat and pathetic. You will never be fat, ever. Don't worry about taking an extra few days off of running to let that stuff heal.
Mike - in regards to the doc not shaving around the incision - I think these days shaving actually increases the chances of infection if they have to make an incision. However...I'm with you, it would have ben nice! Depending on how deep they had to cut, it may take a good week before you feel OK walking and running. And yes...sunscreen is a good thing!
right.
they called me 24 hours in advance to remind me and reconfirm, so i don't think it would be too much to ask to add this sentence:
"Preferences vary between customers, but we would like to let know that it's your choice if you want to shave a 6 by 6 inch area as there will be sticky gauze/bandaids involved post procedure."
but it's healing... sloooooowly!
