mistakes, blown coverages, dropped passes, bad throws, fumbles, but
for the first game of the year, I give it an A- just based on the
muscle on goal line defense.
Work to do:
-big hole on LB's with Kindle moving to DE. Sergio is working hard on
DE, he's an athletic beast, but he'll never be Orakpo. I wish they'd
also play him at LB from time to time. Especially in short yardage
downs as we need big bodies to stuff the holes against better teams.
- WR's finally woke up after a sloppy 1.5 quarters. Dan Buckner and J.
Hatch Chiles will be great if Colt ever decides to look for someone
that is open more often instead of playing with his roommate so much.
Hatch was WIDE OPEN repeatedly.
2 Highlights for me are as follows:
The future looks bright with DJ Monroe playing the role of Ramonce
Taylor, & Garrett Gilbert looked better than any other true frosh QB
we've ever had in his first ever drive. He can run too! (actually
Simms wowed with his big arm too, way back when, but I think I'm the
only Simms fan left, so I won't dwell on that. Plus, I think he
redshifted?)
