7.2

This week is turning out to be a mental struggle week.  When the mental just isn't there the results are pretty pathetic.

Yesterday I simply wasn't up for a run, and instead proceeded to not eat or drink anything till 1pm, when i had two peaches, then nothing again till 7pm when i finally got motivated enough to cook up an unhealthy box of Kraft Mac'n'cheese and ate 70% of it.  I had 20oz of water with the meal.

Today I ran a quick loop with Karma before setting out with Team Rogue.  They had a 13 mile intervals and tempo workout on rolling hills, and that just didn't sound appetizing. So, what I intended to be 10 miles easy pace by cutting the loop short, turned into a lackadaisical 3 out 3 back, for a total of 7.2 miles.  Better than 0.

I'm pretty hungry today, so I'll do a better job to get ready for Saturday.

I cannot wait for the upcoming 3 day weekend, and I'm making it a 3day Mike extravaganza.
  1. I'm definitely not going to join the team for their 24 mile out and back adventure, and instead hop on the greenbelt with Mer for 3 hours of fun.  It's just that much more appetizing.
  2. Then i'll head home, eat and nap, then head out to a fun pre-football tailgate with loads and loads of BBQ, beer, and football watching on TV, then walk over to the Game.  I'll be sure to wear my hand down with all the high-fives from the 50+ points that UT's high powered offense is going to unleash on the team who has Black Spandex Wearing Cheerleaders.
  3. Sunday I'll do whatever I want, maybe go take a nap under a tree somewhere, maybe find some friends for a lunch or afternoon margaritas, maybe a nap to Sunday television, make a hike with Karma.
  4. Monday I'll get up bright and early and go run in the middle of the road up and down congress and cesar chavez before the Austin Tri  starts up at 7am.  I'll then spend the morning cheering on Mer's husband Paul, as he competes for a top overall spot.
My head should be back to normal after that.  If it isn't, well, it's ok, since my race is still 8 weeks out, and i still have till next Friday to get it all together for a long and hard saturday and sunday.
