Movie Review: Inglourious Basterds

Went and caught Tarantino's "Inglourious Basterds" last night. Good Stuff!

Quentin's script writing is back!
After a few (in my opinion) lackluster movies where his script writing had me a little bored on the classic Tarantino style long exchanges, this one kept me entertained even during those typical 15 minute exchanges.

If you don't mind a little violence and blood in your spaghetti western World War II movie, this one packs plenty of laughs, action, and great acting, with what I thought was a brilliant script. (maybe it helps that I speak French and didn't have to read the subtitles during those parts?)

I give it 4.5 popcorn buckets out of 5.

Here's one of the trailers

***If Christopher Waltz that plays the part of the SS Col. Hans Landa doesn't get nominated for supporting actor awards, there's something truly wrong with Hollywood.***
(I may have to get my hands on the DVD because I'm pretty sure there will be another hour's worth of scenes that didn't make the final cut.)

On DVD I watched the Tyson documentary and I'll give it 3 of 5 popcorn buckets. A little too sad than what I was hoping for, but still interesting. I also watched a Flash of Genius, and really enjoyed it. I'd give it 3.5 popcorn buckets. I mean, there's nothing flashy about a guy that gets his window wiper invention stolen from him, but the storyline is good, the acting is decent and the message it brings is good too. Next up on DVD: 12 Rounds and The Soloist.
