Saturday 24

Cough be damned, I met my roadies for 8 miles at 6am followed by another 16 after that. I was a coughing machine for parts, and was fine at other times. Pace throughout was 7:25-7:40.

First 8 miles felt very labored. The fast guys are better at getting straight up into 7:30pace than i am so it felt like a struggle for most of it.
The next 12 felt fine, but the last four were a struggle, as I could tell my body was feeling the effects of less than 100% energy from being sick. Nothing a gel couldn't fix, but i sure was glad to be done when we reached the store. (I think Niccole was too but she's too tough to admit it!)

Waaaaay too many runners on Townlake trail. at 7:30-8am the weekend before the Austin Marathon. Need to remember that for the future. Felt like rush hour traffic on the 405 in LA.

29 in 2 days. Off to Pace Bend park in a couple of hours to try a new 11 mile trail out there. That'll put me at 40 for the week in 3 days. 30-40 miles short of goal, but you don't mess around when you're sick or you'll dig a deeper whole than you care to climb out of.

Hopefully the super bowl keeps the mountain bikers at home, or at the grocery stores.

FYI.....Mountain bikers built that trail (PB) and do work on it every weekend so you might not hope they are gone completely
