Giving back.

Saturday I volunteered for three hours taking care of packet pickup for the Sunday trail race in town. Turns out they were severely understaffed (no volunteer to do it) and really welcomed me showing up and taking over so they could pack trucks and do all other things they needed to do to get out to the race site. Time flew by!

Sunday, I knocked out 2 birds with 1 stone.  As much as I'd a liked to go to the trail race, it's just not a spectator sport.  I had some friends racing in a triathlon on Sunday, and when I found out that Mer was helping out that local triathlon,it was an easy decision to not drive out for an hour to the trail race, and instead just drive 30 minutes to the tri and help cut fruit for the post race free-fruit-stand.  Afterall, I'd already collected Karma points from the trail gods the day prior.  While down there, Mer and I ran out on the bike course during the swim part of the race so we could cheer on friends we knew on the bike course, as we ran back to the finish.  Out the door by 5:45, fun times shotting the sh*t while cutting up fruit, cheering on friends, a little run, and home in bed for an hour siesta by 10am!

Next up. Figure out when I should go for a light run this week.  Wednesday, maybe?
