We got on the road at 10am, and drove all day up through lubbock, amarillo then over briefly into northern New Mexico (after the sun had set) before we shot straight up in Colorado Springs.
Arrived at JT's house after 14+ hours (stopped for lunch and dinner), and finally got to bed.
A long long day of fairly unimpressive scenery, so there won't be any photos for travel day #1 since anything scenic was seen at night.
Things should change today as the sun will rise and we depart for Aspen where we are meeting a friend of AJ's. She' happens to be there for a wedding and flies out later this afternoon.
I believe we will go check out some things here in CS efore departure, including a big breakfast at King's Chef Diner where my goal is to finish my plate and join the world renowned Clean Plate club.
