Volunteering for Karma points

Been volunteering at things quite often to build Karma points. Sunday I spent almost 6 hours (including travel as I was in charge of buying Ice) at a local 5K that a friend directs. I had a great time managing the young volunteers that manned the raceday registration and packet pickup. I then helped with the Timing team. Good stuff.

Today I worked at Barton Springs for 2 hours helping out to bring her back from the muddy mess she is. Scroll down to my post from a few days ago, to see how clear and blue/green things should look on normal days, and compare them today. My job involved sweeping mud/dirt from a section of the bottom of the pool towards a pump.

Here's my little group sweeping away.
I then went and got a well deserved 72nd milkshake.

A friend's parents had really bad flooding at their home, tithe point that about 4.5feet (1.5meters) of muddy waters invaded their home and turned their lives upside down. Tomorrow I will go help out with that cleanup for half a day as well.
At some point all this positive work will pay off!
