Android and Apple

Countless people tell me that Android will eventually eclipse the Apple iPhone over time. They're also not happy with Apple's controlling ways - reviewing all apps in the app store, and controlling security access.  Personally, I've always taken the stance that I like the security guard / watchdog approach, even though it may somehow limit what my app choices are.  But it's not like I haven't found an app for almost anything I'd like to do, so it's all good to me.

This leads me to THIS article that speaks to the security vulnerabilities of the Android OS, and how it could get real ugly in that world.  I can't imagine switching to that possible risk.
Here are my two favorite quotes from it:
"There are as many different versions of Android as there are handsets or tablets," Ghosh noted. And even when there's an update for a security hole, a phone will only get it if the carrier supports that update -- or Google changes how its servers operate."
"It's getting very fractured, and I think it's going to come back and bite them". "People are just beginning to exploit these phones," and this latest security flaw is only the beginning.  "You're going to see a steady drip of these," he said.
