Trail Running Statistics

This article from a Spanish trail running blog has THIS great document about demographics of trail running in the USA.   Although it's a couple years old, it's still very interesting to see the breakdowns and stats, if you're into this sort of stuff.

For example. it claims 10% of trail runners live in the TOLA region (Texas, Oklahoma Arkansas, Louisiana) while only 8.7% live in all the rocky mountain states. It says 24% of trail runners are in Florida and up the Mid Atlantic.

50% of trail runners crossover to Bowling.

43.9 million run on paved roads, 4.8 million are trail runners.

(Remember, if you use Google Chrome, it automatically will offer to translate any blog, including that Spanish one.)
