Stop inviting your friends.
(Click on the image to make it bigger)
I ended up on the Census Bureau's website after checking today's weather prognosis on a local news site. The site had a headline saying Austin was the 16th most populated city in the US.
Surely that can't be true, I thought. "There are 50 states, and multiple large cities in several of the popular coastal states." It peeked my interest as I wanted to know who was ahead and behind us.
First thing that came to mind, was that all these sports authoritities saying that Austin isn't big enough to have a major professional team need to explain themselves more. Afterall, 7 of the 9 cities behind us all have Basketball, Baseball or Football teams.
So next time you're in Denver, Boston or Seattle, be sure to tell those folks that they have a small town!
I don't want us to grow anymore. Can some tell people to stop moving here, please?
