Where: Barton Creek Trail - 360 Access point
When: 6:30pm, Wednesday, Aug 23
Distance: probably about 5.5 to 6 miles
Time: 1 hour
Company: Karma, Nedra, Amanda and Carolyn
Weather: Close to 100 degrees, but nice a shady.
Comments: A nice run on technically the same trail but from a completely different entrance point, so essentially a completely new trail run. It was much less technical than the usual Wednesday nighter, and mostly a very friendly dirt trail meandering it's way along a dry creek bed, and through the trees. Humid, but in the shade so not too bad. Karma did great, let him off the leash for the return trip, and he led us home. We had a little adventure on a ledge where you had to grab a chain to make it over some rocks; Karma ran and jumped his way down the steep rock hill (dogs don't understand the concept of a chain), and couldn't get back up, but eventually found his way back up to us further down the road.
I guess the highlight of this trip was finding a water spring. We're in almost critical levels of drought, but this spring was as cold as it can get, and Karma really enjoyed cooling off his paws and drinking about a Gallon's worth.

Really? Otis always uses the chain.
umm... unless you provide picture proof, we'll consider this "Otis using the chain" thing, a myth.
I've tried to take pictures, but he has asked me not to. He says it breaks his concentration on the chains.
Have some faith. :)
