The marathon I did not train for...
***Stupid blogger won't play nice and let me upload my pictures***THURSDAY2pm – Drive by to see how the situation is at the tailgate spot. Freak out (see picture) and immediately go swap cars and load car with essentials to claim a spot. (Grill, table and Chairs) 4pm – Get REAL lucky and secure our usual tailgating spot as the Fraternity changes their minds and decides to change the angle of their land they have claimed, freeing up our corner. Hang out to ensure that no one grabs our spot.9pm – Learn how to play Beer Pong.10:30pm – Befriended the Fraternity boys, and Russell, and they agree to keep an eye on my spot till I return on Friday. Leave tailgate, straight to Grocery Store to buy supplies for camp out AND tailgate. FRIDAY1am – Go to sleep after preparing tubs and coolers.5am – Wake up, shower and then pack the Explorer up with 4 coolers, 2 Plastic Tubs, and change of clothes. Head for work by 7am. 9:45am – Can’t stand sitting at work any longer thinking someone’s going to snag my spot. 10am – Arrive at tailgate after buying 10 breakfast tacos. (the Fratboys and Russell will surely be hungry, and they did me a grand favor). Feed college kids, and others further strengthening bond between us tailgate guards. 12:15pm – Crack open first beer of the day.2:30pm – Trey arrives for the long haul too.5pm – Time to cook up some sausage wraps. 7pm – Fraternity has 23 cases of Beer delivered (23 x 24beers) for Friday’s party. 8pm – Russell returns with a Keg of Beer. 8:30pm – Additional UT Swim team arrives with tons of beer. 9 onwards – Beer Pong, Party, RAIN RAIN RAIN, party. Pass out. Blurrrrrr… Ross from work and Mike rubber legs come to party with us. They have a grand ol’ time too. SATURDAY6:30am – Wake up. Can’t sleep. Too much on my mind.7am – Walk around and strike up conversations with new people arriving with tailgating supplies. 7:30am – Walk over to ESPN College Gameday to see what’s up. 8:am – Leave. It’s boring to stand there.12 noon – Billie arrives. Followed by more and more people. My guess… 2 Thousand people on our grass field. This place is Rockin!6pm – Breakdown valuables, and head to game. 10:45pm – Return from game. 12:15am – Finish packing Explorer and cleaning up. Head home for good.Time spent at tailgate spot and football game:
Thursday - 5.5 hours
Friday and Saturday – 38 hours
TOTAL – 43.5Would I do it again if there was another #1 vs #2 matchup like this one.
YOU BETTER BELIEVE IT!!!What would I do differently?
Make damn sure more people show up for Friday night party AND for Saturday tailgate. People missed out. People REALLY missed out!

Yo man, your tailgate kicked major ass. I gained about ten pounds. Of beer. Another ten in food. Next time I'll get there earlier for the Friday night party.
I guess I did your part this time. I ran marathon support with Thur night food (I made sure to get your favorite cherry limeaid) and Sat stale donutes and bananas.
I sent dad in place of me for Sat afternoon tailgate. =)
