Run Update - Week of Sunday 8/17 through Saturday 8/23

**New Acronym: DWEAP(e)R – Dog Wants Exercise And Poop Run. Almost always happens before work at 5:40am unless otherwise specified.**

Sunday 8/17 – Easy 3 Mile DWEAPR
I was tired from Saturday’s 10Mile run, then 7 Hours at ACL Fest, so all I could muster up was 3 miles so Karma could stretch his legs.

Monday 8/18 – 2 Mile DWEAPR + 5 Miles
In the morning I ran with Karma, then in the afternoon met up with Ami and Otis to run 5 miles on the roads as it Rained Sunday night and the trails were muddy.

Tuesday 8/19 – 3 Mile DWEAPR + Solo Track workout (~4 Miles total.)
Tuesday’s solo Workout was on a track and involved Straights and Curves, where I ran the Straight parts of the track at 10K pace, and the curves at a slower recovery pace. I ran 3 lap warm-up, 12 lap workout, and 1 lap cool-down. Pretty tiring, especially when you don’t have workout friends with whom to do this.

Wednesday 8/20 – 2 Mile DWEAPR + Group Workout : 1.5 Marshes (about 7Miles Total.)
Wednesday’s team workout featured a nice hill workout.
Rubber Legs' account and (Hono)Lulu's account describe the workout very well, so go read their descriptions!
I opted for an up, a down, and a bonus up. I was quite pleased with my times: 11:57 on the first up, 11:16 on the downhill, and then 11:22 on the final up. It’s a tough workout, and adding an extra ‘up’ was a good move! (Oh yeah, we alos ran about a 1.5 Mile warm up, and a 1.5 cool down or so.

Thursday 8/21 – 4 Mile Trail run with Karma
I felt very tired as shit after the Marshes the night before. I even slept in till 6:30 as I knew I couldn’t run the trails till it’s light enough (6:50am). I ran REALLY slow, but Karma didn’t care. He sprinted back and forth and here and there, and spotted a few deer that sent him on some crazy sprint-outs. He was happy -> Mission Accomplished.

Friday 8/22 – 3 Mile easy DWEAPR.
Not much to say other than unless you absolutely had to*, you shouldn’t have run on Friday morning. It was 'hot and nasty humid' out there.

* Necessary runs included, but were not limited to:
- You need to go on a DWEAPR run.
- Survival - Someone was about to stab you in bed, but you hid in your closet and shaped your bed with pillows like a human, thus escaping tragedy and are running for your life.
- It's Friday, 85 degrees and muggy as hell, and you enjoy getting soaking wet from your own soury sweat within 0.3 of a mile.

Saturday 8/23 – 4 Mile easy DWEAPR and 1.5 Mile Charity Dog Walk.
I didn’t run a long run today as I usually do, as I was doing a Charity Dog Walk with Marla instead on Saturday morning. A fw other friends (of Marla’s) were supposed to join us, but they all were no-shows. Weak!!
The 4 Mile run was at 6:am and was hot and Humid as Friday. Yuck.

Total: 38.5 Miles
