It’s race week, and rest week, so we’re supposed to take it easy. (Every third week is a lighter week to allow the body to recover.) I’ll come back strong next week! I promise.
Monday 10/16 – I have a guest living with me, but she’s up for running too, so I went and ran with Karma and Eden on the trail Monday afternoon. About 4 Miles
Tuesday 10/17 – Ran 2 miles after work in the trails with Karma and Eden to get them some exercise. I then met up with some running friends for a little workout. First coach Panther and Triscuit and I ran 2 miles on the town lake trail, then met up with Ostrich, The Enforcer, Hammer, and Lulu for a 4.5 mile trail and hill run in Rollingwood. They don’t call it Rolling wood for nothing, it’s hilly, and some hills are pretty steep which makes for a nice workout. Panther had a party to get to, so Triscuit and I were left on our own to run back 2.5 miles (other way on town lake is longer). Total workout – 11 miles
Wednesday 10/18 – Pain Train (marathon training group) workout. Kinda boring if you ask me, we ran 2 miles on the track, and 1 warm ad 1 cool down mile. It was interesting that 3 of us ran together as we’re quite faster than most, and when we were done, several people pointed out that we had only done 7 and not 8 laps because we had only lapped them once and not twice. It’s nice to know others are very concerned about how many laps I do! I’m pretty sure I counted 8, but who knows? If we only ran 7, then I’ll blame it on Buzz distracting us with his gum offers, which got our count mixed up. Hee hee
To Buzz’s credit, while nursing a potentially season ending knee injury, he’s been the best support team member I’ve ever had! I hope he gets better and can join us on the runs soon! The water service is good, but I'd rather have him running. Total miles - 4
Thursday 10/19 – Ran 45 mins with my friend Dan on the trail. The dogs, Karma and Eden came along and did great. About 5 miles. It was good to catch up with Dan. Trail running is turning out to be a great time to catch up with people, as we get a great workout, and gets some solitary time to talk about life. Miles - 5
Friday 10/20 – I got lazy. Embarrassed to admit it, but couldn’t get my butt out of bd to get my 5 miles in before work, and then when I got back from work, I had to go argue with my car repair shop. By the time I was done, I had bveen invited to a quick dinner. I did however take the doggies to the trails to let them run around while I walked with them for 20 mins! They love it everytime!! Miles 0. (I’ll call it my day off!)
Saturday 10/21 – The coaches schedule sayus no run as I have a 10 Mile race on Sunday, but I felt like I needed to stretch my legs. Just a quick run in the neighborhood. Miles 2
Total Miles – 26
I will run 10 (+2 warm and cool down miles) tomorrow so it’ll add up to a respectable 38 mile, 7 day week.
