4 day camp

I've decided to finally put on a race bib again, and run the Bandera 50km in January, which means I need to put some effort into my training.  (I have a wedding to attend that evening, so 100km would have been impossible even if I was ready for it)

The training schedule looks pretty decent, as I can take advantage of a 50km in 2 weeks to gauge what my fitness level is like, and get a supported 50km run.

Weekend 6 - Thanksgiving 4 day camp - COMPLETED
Weekend 5 - Dec 3 - Recovery Weekend/Run
Weekend 4 - Dec 10 - El Sendero 50km - Gauge fitness.
Weekend 3 - Dec 17 - Recovery Weekend/Run
Weekend 2 - Dec 24- Final hard training weekend and week.
Weekend 1 - Dec 31 - Recovery/Taper weekend
Weekend 0 - Jan 7 - Race day

This past 4-day camp, I put in 65 miles of trail running.  The two longer runs (Thursday and Saturday) were 17 and 27.5 miles respectively, while the other two made up the difference. I really pushed the pace on the last 20 mins of the 27.5 mile run, getting final pace down to aroun d 6:40-6:50 on some flat trails.
Also felt pretty darn good on Sunday for the final run on tired legs, and really pushed the pace for the last hour once the sun was up.

In other news, a Spanish blog I follow posted a pretty cool write-up of a guy racing up Mt Olympus in Utah.  (if you use google chrome browser, it'll automatically translate it for you)
WOW.  Here's the video of the run. If you get tired of seeing him climb, hang in there, or at minimum, move to 5:30 and watch him go back down.)
