I’ve started my Tapering, so the mileage has decreased quite a bit.
Monday – 4 Miles on Greenbelt with Karma. Felt great.
Tuesday – Track workout with the Blue Jackets. 3.5 Warm up + cooldown. 2 Miles around track... 100m @ Mile pace, 100 meter recovery, 100m @Mile pace, 100 meter recovery etc… (Karma ran this with me, stay tuned for story) Total 5.5 Miles
Wednesday – Track workout with the Pain Train. 2 Mile Tronkys. 200 meters at MGP, then 200 Meters at 10K pace. This was tougher than it sounds. We slow down to our MGP as our recovery, and it was a tought workout for me. I went hard on the 10K 200’s to make sure I hit my 6:30pace splits. 2.5 Mile warm up cool down. 4.5 Mile Total.
Thursday – Nothing
Friday – Nothing
Saturday – 8.5 Miles with Marathon Group. We were supposed to run a minute slower than MGP, and I ended up averaging 8:14pace, which is 48 seconds slower than MGP. It was hard running much slower.
Sunday – Nothing… just walked the greenbelt with the Karmster for 25-30 mins or so.
Total Miles: 22.5 Miles
* My current 2 Mile time trial record is 12min 32 seconds. I set that back in September. I find it interesting, that during the Wednesday workout. I ran the 2 Mile workout in 12min 58 seconds. That’s just 26 seconds off my record, which means I only went 3.25 seconds slower per lap.
Prediction: Provided I recover well from the Marathon, I’ll run a sub 12 min 2-Mile Time Trial in March. That’s 7 laps in 1min30 each, with a 1min 29second last lap. I’m going to give it a shot!
