I went and ran 5 miles on Townlake yesterday. I had the intention of running 7, but I decided not to push my luck with the heel.
I haven't run on non greebelt trail/roads in over a month, and this morning my feet, ankles and lower legs have the same pains / feel like they used to the day after a soccer game. Time to pop 2 or 3 advils.
A friend was in town on business, so I went and had dinner with him, then went over to Joe's to watch the Warriors Mavs game. Didn't get hom till a few minutes past midnight. I was good and only had a couple of beers at dinner and sipped on a crown on the rocks during the game, but damn, i'm feeling sleepy today. I usually struggle to stay awake past 9:30.
I reset my alarm from the usualy 5:45 to 6:45 as I don't have anything set going on this morning at work. I couldn't sleep past 6:15 and was out of bed by 6:30. The weird thing is, whether I get out of bed at 5:50am, or 6:30am, i still make it to work at the same time. How does that work?
Meredith, my nutritionist, will be glad to hear that I've been eating better, drinking a V8 and snacking mid afternoon, AND, i'm two thirds of the eggos i eat are organic wheat ones and not my usual cinnamon toast ones. Last night I ate vegetables at the restaurant. I won't tell you what the appetizer was, but the entree I had was very healthy and had tons of veggies I ate. I also bought this big 74oz jug at Whalgreen's for $2.99 that i fill up with ice water every day. I'm supposed to take in 80oz, so adding whatever i don't drink in the office gets me there. It's tough though. I challenge anyone to drink 80 oz of water every day for 5 days straight. You can't do it.
The best news I have today is we're having a Margarita party at work at 3:30, and I have a personal appointment at 11:30am, so I think this day will be over by the time you read this. In fact, in my brain, this day was over when I parked my car and someone had beat me to my usual spot.

80 oz. of water a day?? That's crazy talk. But I'll accept your challenge and try it for 5 days.
P.S. - Responding to your comment on Erin's blog, I read your blog (and pretty much everyone else's) every day, so quit whining! ;)
I read your stuff too.
I (heart) margaritas!
No one reads your blog Wiley - but I am looking forward to tonight!
It's hard when Meredith reads our blogs... :) She's sneaky like that.
PS - I know what you mean about getting ready! What's up with that?!
