I wasn’t feeling it yesterday, but when I got to the track, I hit all my times during the workout so I was pretty happy about that. I decided that I’d raise the pace from a 5K pace I’m familiar with, to a tad faster. I ran a 19min10sec 5K pace. That would be a 40 second PR if I ran that in a real race. Anyway, that’s all I have to say about that.
This morning, Lulu, Nedra, Brad and I met up on Moonshadow for a 60 min Trail Adventure. I wouldn’t necessarily call it a Trail Run, because we did so much more.
The first 15 mins were a little challenging due to darkness, but as usual, come 6:15am, we’d reached less tree covered areas and the trail was perfectly bright enough to see.
We ran down to Barton Creek at “the Dam” and went swimming. Literally. I’m not talking, crossing the river in knee high waters. I’m talking, took my shirt off, and went swimming in the creek for about 10 minutes. We all had a blast, including Karma who kept following me. I’d go up close to the waterfall, then let the water flow take me 30 yards downstream. Karma came along for the ride!
We then continued our run down to the PowerLine, and ran home. A nice 55 min outing!
Best part about it: It’s now 8am, and I’ve already gone trail running AND swimming in Barton Creek. I’m sitting here at work, looking at people and thinking to myself, “All you did was wake up after hitting 3 snoozes and came to work.”
I’ve already had a blast today! And I can’t wait to do it again next Wednesday!

Ok...that's just freakin awesome! I'm so jealous!
...and I only hit the snooze twice thank you.
I think I set a record for the number of snooze button hits this morning ... btw, where was my invitation? I would have joined you guys for sure!
I hit snooze once but somehow managed to make it on time. That was a GREAT TIME!!! I am living on a cloud today!!
Yeah, we never get asked to do any of the fun stuff.
ummm... I clearly remember sending an email telling all people that were on my trail running list that I was no longer sending trail running emails, and to have people reach out to me if they were interested.
Quit yer whining people, and tell me on Monday that you want to go, and i'll invite you if we end up running!!!
You can pretty much assume we are going to run Wed or Fri at 6AM. 95% of the time (through Wiley's Chicago trip) it is going to be Wed since he does something called a "long run" on Sat AM.
