7/23/2007 - Monday - 5:45AM - 7 Miles - 7 Miles with Nedra and Karma. Felt fine. About one hour. 7mile townlake loop.
7/24/2007 - Tuesday - 5:30AM - 9 Miles - Ran 200s on the track… I did well, but it was long.
7/25/2007 - Wednesday - 6AM - 5 Miles - 5 Trail miles with Lulu, Brad, and Jo dee. Ran down to the water and back up the long way cedar chop side. Not sure what the name is. It was nice. Water was a little murky due to recent rains, but I still jumped in.
7/26/2007 - Thursday - 0 Miles - Vacation- Luggage got lost, so had no running gear.
7/27/2007 - Friday - 0 Miles - Vacation- Luggage got lost, so had no running gear.
7/28/2007 - Saturday - 0 Miles - Vacation- Luggage got lost, so had no running gear.
7/29/2007 - Sunday - 0 Miles - Vacation- Luggage got lost, so had no running gear.
7/30/2007 - Monday - 5:30AM - 10 Miles - 10 miles with Nedra and Bruce and Jodie. Karma joined us for 5 around Town Lake, and then we ran up through campus and congress for the other 5. I felt good as I hadn't run in 4 days. Felt rested and fresh.
7/31/2007 - Tuesday - 5:30AM - 10.5 Miles - "1.75 mile warmup to the track, This time, we did 4 sets, I decided to err on the conservative side of things for the first lap so i wouldnt die ont he 4th. Not only were we doing 4 sets, but we were running 1200 on the track instead of 800.
Mile 1: 7:14 - 1200: 5:13 (about 3:20 for 800); Mile 2: 7:14 - 1200: 5:07 (about 3:15 for 800); Mile 3: 6:55 - 1200: 4:55 (about 3:09 for 800); Mile 4: 6:57 - 1200: 4:41 (about 3:04 for 800). Pretty happy with my performance, as this was much longer and harder (+1.75 miles)than a month ago, and I did almost as well. 1.75 mile cooldown. Quads were hurting when i got up, when i was done and all day."
8/1/2007 - Wednesday - 6AM - 5 Miles - Ran trails easy with Bruce, Nedra, Brad, and Jodie. (karma too of course!) My quads are still killing me. Made appointment to see Lisa on Thursday lunch time.
8/2/2007 - Thursday - 5:30AM - 6 Miles - 44 minute Fart Lek around Towlake. 10 min warmup, 6 sets of 3 mins at tempo (10K pace which ended up being around 6:30/m) then 1 min recovery. Repeat x 6. 10 min cool down. I felt really good, except my quads still hurt before and after and a little during.
8/3/2007 - Friday - 0 Miles - OFF DAY, but feel like a champ from massage.
8/4/2007 - Saturday - 6AM - 19 Miles - Run From Hell 18.85 miles. It was tought, two loops in the pyrenees, but overall, ran and 8:44 average, and total time of 2:47
8/5/2007 - Sunday - 7:30AM - 3 Miles - I ran around the neighborhood with Karma. 3 Miles was enough. I just couldn't go any further, and Karma doesn't like running on the road. He's a spolied trail running dog.
8/6/2007 - Monday - 5:15AM - 12.5 Miles - Felt like a turd, and I think Nedra was pretty beat up too, but we powered thourgh it, ran 5 miles around the Bird with Karma, then ran up through congress and campus up speedway to 45th street and back down. It sucked. We were tired.
8/7/2007 - Tuesday - 5:30AM - 5 Miles - Sisson had us not run the track workout as they've been running us Chicago group hard, and instead we ran 5 easy miles around the bird. Darryl, Bruce, Nedra and I. It was nice to not have to run like mad in circles.
8/8/2007 - Wednesday - 6AM - 4 Miles - Trail run with Jo Dee, Kerry, and Brad. Up powerline, down the hill, then up along the waters edge to the dam and then back up. Tons of Horseflies. Hundreds. We ran hard back from middle road as the horseflies were all over us. about 20 flies a piece. It was nasty, but the run and swim was great great great!
8/9/2007 - Thursday - 5:30AM - 7.5 Miles - 1.5 Marshes. I rocked it. 11:27, 11:09, 11:12 were my times on the halves. Pretty happy about them. It was warm and muggy.
8/10/2007 - Friday - 0 Miles - Day off to prepare for 20 Mile Shrup.
8/11/2007 - Saturday - 5AM - 20 Miles - Ran the Shrup really well. Most people I talked to had a tough time on Saturday. I felt good once my body woke up 45 minutes into the run. Thank god the first 45 minutes were on flat stuff up to Pecos and a little bit into it. 5AM was a really rough time to start. Averages 8:44s for the first 10.25 miles, of which 6 were very hilly pecos and balcones. Then ran a nice 2 miles to shaol creek, and picke up to well above MGP for the last 8 miles. I didn't know how fast i was going so, I ened up running around 7min miles. Total running time 2hours 32 ish minutes, with a total time with waterstops of 2:47. 2:32 is a 7:36 pace.
8/12/2007 - Sunday - 8AM - 5 Miles - Felt ok, but really tired legs, but ran a nice easy pace around the bird. Fucking sucks to run on sundays around the bird at 8am. NEVER again.
8/13/2007 - Monday - 5:45AM - 7 Miles - 7 miles around the bird with Miss Gregory. She was tired from winning her age group at the Darnd'st and I was still tired with heavy legs from the Shrup 20. We ran 7 mile loop in 1 hour 6 minutes, with 2 water stops. That's slow! Wow. A nice time, but tons of gnats. I think i ate 37 gnats.
7/23 - 7/29 : 21 Miles
7/30 - 8/5 : 53.5 Miles
8/6 - 8/13 54 Miles
Total Miles in 3 weeks: 128.5 Miles
