“You thought X-Box, Nintendo, and Playstation were bad? The Wii will be the downfall of civilization as we knew it. The days of "Go outside and play, and don't come back till it's time for lunch/dinner" are officially numbered. Furthermore, the only positive to all this is that laundry detergent makers won’t have to worry about removing grass stains on jeans ever again; it’s their fault.”

Can we not instill a modicum of moderation into our lives?? Just because we have one, does not mean our time must be consumed by the Wii.
These are what I like to call "teaching opportunities".
We can teach and learn how to budget and allocate valuable resources, like time (on the Wii and other things like computers, TV, leapsters, etc.).
A fine skill to be mastered at any age.
It also provides a new currency in the house. For example: "Want some more time on the Wii this week? Here's a list of extra chores you can do to earn it!" Everybody wins! :)
You ask: Can we not instill a modicum of moderation into our lives??
No, we can't. Sorry. It's the end.
