Interesting things I learned yesterday

While listening to the radio I learned that...
The Iraq war is costing this country 12 BILLION dollars a month... A MONTH!

While watching a TV show (on the Science Channel HD) about natural disasters around the world I learned that...
Prior to the hurricane that hit New Orleans, Hurricane Andrew that hit Florida in the 1990's was the most devastating and costly hurricane. Hurricane Andrew caused $20 BILLION dollars in damages.

Kind of puts a whole bunch of things into perspective.

I was listening to the war audit report today and was amazed that we have been financing this war, while the Iraqis have been paying roughly 10% of the costs - all while making a good bit on their oil. Things that make you go hmmmmm.
