Jetblue is where its at.

To some of you, this may not be news, but to those of you not familiar
with jetblue, here's a recap of what's going on. Granted, this email
won't get uploaded to the blog until I land, but that's ok.
The flight prices were cheaper than AA and other major airlines.
Jet blue claims to have the most legroom in coach. When you book your
flight and pick your seat, you can chhose what amount of legroom you
want. The further back, the more legroom, 34 inches in the back of the
plane as opposed to 32 in the front half. As I checker my baggage,
I'm in no hurry, so I choose the 34 inch option.
Plenty of sodas to choose from like any other flight, BUT, the list of
unlimited snacks includes: Doritos, Biscottis, Cashews, Terra blue
chips, chocolate chunk cookies, Animal Crackers and Lorna Doones
(whatever those are).
But, clearly the beat pet of all this, is the Live TV. 36 channels of
free cable TV. We're talking USA, TNT, 4 different ESPNs, all the
networks, news channels, discovery, history, animal planet, A&E
etc... They also have 3 PPV movie channels.
If you dont want to qtch tv, they also have 100 radio stations (XM
SATELLITE RADIO)
Below is a photo of Bourne Supermacy I'm watching.
So next time you are flying from Austin to NY, or Boston, you are
doing yourself a disservice if you dont hop on Jet Blue... And that's
all I have to say about that.

jetBlue is pretty sweet from an amenity perspective, plus it's one of only two airlines with a direct flight into the NYC area (Continental flies to Newark).

In my view, however, there are two problems with jetBlue. First, you fly into JFK, into, like, the BFE terminal (or at least you used to). That's fine, but I think you can get into the city quicker if you fly to LGA or Newark.

The bigger issue is that if your flight gets cancelled on jB--due to weather, especially--they have no deals cut with other airlines, so you are stranded until jB can get your flight off the ground. This has been a huge problem for them, like, people-being-stranded-for-days kind of huge, on at least two occasions. Personally, I don't have that kind of patience, so I usually fly Continental (btw, Continental serves pizza on the Newark flight).

I hadn't heard about the cancellation problems, but I definitely loved my flight on JB to Boston last April. The TV and snacks rocked. Plus I read that they are starting to do a nonstop to SFO from Austin soon. Woot!

Agree on all points mentioned so far. I will also say that inevitably I get the ONE seat with the broken TV on JetBlue. And if you remember from the news and the new Passenger Bill of Rights... yeah, that was JetBlue that caused all that with their 13 hour tarmac incident, trapping all those passengers.

FYI: if you're ever flying to points West of here, try Frontier. They're the mountain man's JetBlue. Plenty of legroom, new planes with cool animals on the tail (each individually named and announced before the flight), and the same exact TV deal - you have to pay $5 for it, but it's still always cheaper than the stupid crappy major airlines (AA, Continental, Delta).
