I ran 10 miles this morning with the “fast ladies” at 5:45am around the lake formerly known as Town Lake(but I’ll always keep calling Town Lake). Jeez Louise are they fast!
I then had Karma’s yearly check up at the Vet this morning. My faithful readers will know that he’s been a little lazy on the runs of late, so I was really curious on what they’d say. I was confident the lil’ fur face was plenty healthy, but it’s always nice to be reassured.
Karma weighed in at 63lbs which the vet said was perfect weight for him. He also got his butt poked (for whatever it is they check) and that was all good. In addition, he had no “grey/cloudiness” in his eyes, and his the inside of his ears where in prime condition. But most of all, his heart was in perfect shape, and he also got good grades on the shiny coat he has. (Guess the magical & mystical waters of Barton Springs where he gets his baths during trail runs are taking care of business!)
Mr. Vet felt that his slow-down was probably due to a little aging, as after all, he’s 56-60 years old in human years.
A shot, some new heartworm supplies, and we were on our way back home where he got a new toy (stuffed animal) to tear up, and a couple peanut butter treats for being a good boy!

Does Karma-larma have heartworms? or is this just prevention supplies? Sounds to me like the boy is just a little tired from all the running and the amped up mileage! Congratulations on being such a good dog-dad!
No heartworms; just the usual monthly chewable preventatives.
