27

Coach asked me last week when I had last taken a day off from running.
Looking at my running log, it turned out Friday, April 25 was the last
time I failed to go for a run.

Today, I'm not going to run, which means I went 27 straight days with
a run and I actually have mixed emotions about breaking the streak.
Especially since I feel just fine.

But I guess I'll just start a new streak tomorrow.

What's your longest streak?

3 months due to shin splints, but running hurt so badly I did not miss it one bit. Now that I'm contending with other pain (less severe) I don't like missing a day.

My longest streak was from before I was a 'real runner'. I ran every day in January of 1996 when I was a freshman at UT, so I guess that makes 31 days. Each run was between 25 minutes to an hour, and it was all done on the 'freshman field' track, which I believe looks a lot different now. It's the one next to Waller Creek across from the football stadium and behind the big dorms.

I remember what it felt like to run 4 miles in a row.

I guess I was looking at your question as what was my longest streak of not running, rather than longest streak of continuously running.

For me, it would have to be probably in 2003. I believe I ran almost every day that year. Injury-free, I might add...
