Karma told me 1/2 a mile in that he'd changed his mind and was only going to go 1 mile, so I ran the 2nd on my own then ran 5 on Townlake on my own. Almost only went 4 on TL, but ran into Amy on the trail. Conversations with Amy are always very interesting to me, but I don't get a chance to talk to her much, so I extended my run to Congress and ended up with 7 miles.
I also saw Amanda on the trail. it's been ages since the last encounter. We didn't talk, but it was really nice to see her out there. She's looking really fit, so I bet she'll do great at Lake Placid IM. Good luck Amanda, if you're reading this, and I don't see you again.

A quick soak in Barton Springs reminded me yet again why it's so great to live in Austin. Now if only I can talk Steve and Ruthie to start all of our runs from there, peace on earth may happen. (steve, ruthie, you reading this?)
Gotta go, it's time to send an email to Mr Mayor.
P.S. Best part about going 7 today, is I'm back track for a 70+ mile week, provided I run 10 on Sunday and at least 5 on Friday. (Where's that "EASY" button?)

Ha! Putting 2 and 2 together ... I just last night met Amanda! She now works in my building, we chatted for a few minutes. I didn't know she was your "Aussie Amanda", funny ...
This is too funny! Nice to meet you again Mark :)
Sorry for not stopping and chatting with you Mike, but it sure was nice to see you, and thanks for the words of encouragement! I am very much looking forward to escaping this heat for a week, even if it means I have to do an Ironman, heh ;)
Want an easy button...quit running and take up horse back riding...qualifies as an athletic event even though the horse does 99% of the work! I surprises me that when I feel there is no way I can drag myself out of the door to run, I can still ride and enjoy myself. I even think the horse likes it even though he was kinda resisting my efforts to catch him today and dragged himself up to the barn like there was a problem. He had plenty of energy when I rode though...all good energy...no bucking!
