AUSTIN IS...

...running an easy paced 10 mile Tourist loop to really look around and rediscover all the great and interesting things about Downtown Austin before the city is awake. West 6th street, the state buildings on Guadalupe, the sun rising behind the Capitol building, running up the steps to the UT Tower, running down Congress Avenue, and a couple miles on the Hike and Bike trail by the glass-like water on Townlake and Stevie Ray Vaughn's statue.

Finish your run at Barton Springs where you take a good 20 minutes to soak your legs, chat with the daily crowd, float with nothing but your face above water, so you can't hear a thing and all you see is the white half moon, little white clouds floating by, oak treetops lining your peripheral vision, as the cool waters relax you down to a zen-like state of tranquility. You then decide to take an extra 30 minutes to just sit around and watch, lie in the grass with your eyes closed, walk around the Springs, really soak it all in.

I love this town.
